Charachter At the Jorge Michael Ramp

After work we all convened upon Jorge's tropical, and unbelievably fast backyard mini ramp for a friendly session. For a late August day in Florida the weather was surprisingly nice, by which I mean not unbearably hot. Between the hours of 8am to 5pm most of the esteemed members of the SPoT staff are mainly, if not strictly, business. So it's always nice to cut free from the office and enjoy the simplicities of a backyard mini ramp session.

Photobucket
This is a pretty accurate portrayal of the management off the clock

Photobucket
It's just not a mini ramp session with Ryan Clements without a tail block. It's just too bad I didn't have my angle sorted out before he pulled out the old reliable

Photobucket
Frosty pulled out a quick layback boardslide

Photobucket
I got a ridiculous amount of photos of Jacob. Not surprising, as he doesn't really stop skating throughout a session

Photobucket
Ian Gow was running some righteous tricks all evening, as is evident with this frontside crailtap

Photobucket
Jacob, feeble

Photobucket
One of the things I really enjoy about a spot is character. be it a brightly colored wall, or foliage and older Ybor City homes

Photobucket
Barak Wiser was definitely hyped to get some photos, which was the case with this backside ollie onto the extension

Photobucket
Barak manhandled lien to tail's on the main part of the mini ramp as well as the extension

Photobucket
Jacob popped a footplant in 98% of his runs

Photobucket
Jacob ended the session with a frontside crailtap, mainly as a shout out to his main homie Ian. It's all family, kid

Photobucket
Photobucket
Ian almost pulled this backside noseblunt on the extension. Such a shame it didn't go down

Thanks for cultivating such a nice area Jorge

Hesh-Lite

Got heshy in the bowl after work the other day with Jacob Krajewski. We shot some photos for Ian Gow's upcoming and untitled 'zine.

Photobucket
I now call Ian "J. Jonah Jameson", who was the Editor-In-Chief of The Daily Bugle, the Newspaper from Spider Man. It's surprising how easily he's slid into the Editor-In-Chief position, really.

"Steve, I want a photo of Jacob for the 'zine." He'll state.
"Definitely. I'm down. Do you have an idea of what you want?"
"Yeah, like, something gnarly in the bowl, but like, whatever he wants to do, I don't care,"
"Umm, okay. I'll shoot that after work."

Ironically, that's not nearly the vaguest photo idea description I've ever gotten

Photobucket
Went a little weird with te flash first thing in the session. I need to turn it down

Photobucket
Ian is injured way too much but he was feeling jazzy. Backside noseblunt stall no land on my board

Photobucket
Artsy

Photobucket
Get loose

Photobucket
Stay loose. Switch feeble

Photobucket
Dylan Perry couldn't resist getting in on the sesh

Photobucket
Yeah, Jacob

Keep an eye out for Ian's 'zine

Lower The Drawbridge

SPoT threw the first Moat Show this past Tuesday and Wednesday. No one wants to go to Surf Expo anymore.

Photobucket
Tim Kulas set up a mini ramp and threw a best trick contest on it. Jacob did this a day before that, but did it in the contest too

Photobucket
Body's alley-oop side rock deal. Still from a sequence

Photobucket
I shot 3 of these front feeble's Tim did, and Body's shirt was up in all of them

Almost There

Here's a blog of bails. I know, this is pretty whatev's in the content department but it's photos of two of Tampa's most stylish and I think you'll enjoy it either way.

Photobucket
When Chris Jata told me he wanted to go street skate and shoot photos the other day I was floored. He's not exactly known for shooting photos and filming

Photobucket
Famous spot. He ollied it pretty quick but considering Lenoce and Ellington have both done amazing tricks at this spot he did this strictly as a warm-up

Photobucket
PJ, fresh off his Game of SKATE win, came with a Switch Flip in mind

Photobucket
While Jata wanted a Front Heel on it

Photobucket
Man, almost

Photobucket
I really, really wish this was a make

That'll Be A Letter

Of course RayRay was there. Yonis Molina took him out before semi-finals though.

Photobucket
All of Tampa is totally thrilled Robbie Kirkland is home in Tampa again; especially Scotty

Photobucket
Bristol is back from a nasty injury

Two blog posts with shotguns. Jacob Krajewski asked me to shoot this
